Clash Royale is an online military multiplayer game for mobile devices with real-time collectible card game elements. The game is available on Android and iOS and was released on 2 March 2016 by Supercell. The developers decided not to reinvent the wheel, but simply to make a quality game. And they succeeded – the game has been a resounding success, and also managed to overtake another famous developer’s project – Clash of Clans – in popularity.

But like any strategy Clash Royal is not devoid of tricks that can greatly facilitate the gameplay and make it more interesting. About them we will talk further.

A good deck – the key to success

Yes, it sounds obvious and no surprise, but a well constructed and balanced deck will greatly increase your chances of winning. Don’t go throwing cards around, as this “tactic” only works at the beginning of the game. As the number of battles won and the number of cups increases, your opponents will become stronger and more cunning. A good deck should have class balance, i.e. along with epic characters you should have:

• Legendary;
• common;
• Rare heroes.

In addition, always have splash cards as well as point damage cards in your deck.

Do not overload the deck with too expensive characters, they do not do much good, they just waste resources. But it makes sense to have a card with a lot of HP (1000 or more). This is useful to protect your reserve troops and to make a large retreat should your Napoleonic plans go awry.

Tactics

Clash Royal’s tactics are simple: the playing area is controlled by the most survivable heroes, backed up by smaller and cheaper characters. The best combination to attack is Giant and Orb, and these two characters are very hard to kill, so if you have a Goblin and a King, for example, you can safely attack.

Game currency

The main currency of the game is gold. You can use it to buy and upgrade cards, and to create your own clan. You can get gold by winning battles, opening chests or buying them with crystals. Crystals aren’t the main, but still an important currency in Clash Royal. They won’t allow you to level up your cards, but will allow you to buy the chests from which they are obtained (a dilemma!). Crystals are not to be spent immediately.

Chests and arenas

Chests are the most important part of Clash Royal. They fall into several categories and their level depends on the arena they are in. That is, the higher the level, the richer the chest. Every four hours you will receive a free chest, and every 24 hours you can purchase a gold chest for 10 crowns. This is an opportunity not to be ignored, as a gold chest is considered quite valuable.
