Memory Lost

Memory Lost

A demo of the game, especially after watching the trailer to a quality track, doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. So why not try it out? The short part of the game includes only a little of what the developer has cooked up. Still, there’s some insight thanks to the trial run.

The story features a choice of arenas that are connected by corridors. In between battles, there are various lines and inserts from the main story. There are individual, fun individuals as well.

The visual style of the 2D artwork is quite nice. Everything looks pretty much right. As for the 3D visuals, it’s a bit more complicated. The fact that the rooms are quite similar to each other is a bit boring, so the developer uses additional resources to change things for the better.

There are a few basic abilities at the player’s disposal:

  1. Jerk.
  2. Ulta, which allows you to inhabit living people, even during combat.
  3. Implanting into an enemy corpse.

The former is used practically without rollback, the latter is only used on corpses that haven’t been inhabited yet. The Oolt, on the other hand, builds up during combat. The set is very simple, but all can be developed and improved.

In actual combat it looks as follows. The player enters the arena, shoots the entire stockpile, possesses a corpse to restore health and then cuts down archers, picks up weapons and starts all over again.  Ammo can be scarce, so you can take a tire iron.

Memory Lost review

Now the battles are rather monotonous, and in the demo mode there are not many weapons, and the enemies are only 3 types:

  1. Fighter.
  2. Gunner.
  3. The runner.

The first two types are most common, and runners often get bored at the end, as it is more difficult to transition into the arena.

That is, the main disadvantage is the lack of gameplay variability. But that’s a start for now, the studio has a lot more to offer. Eventually the game will be much brighter and better.

In fact, the developer has already managed to share some plans. But it’s worth highlighting the main ones:

  1. Each new enemy will have its own logic of behavior, there will be new archetypes and combinations. There will also be unique abilities, of course, as well as bosses.
  2. Mechanics of gathering and development of the Persian.
  3. Visual component.
  4. Redesign of melee.

But it’s the first item that pleases many players.
